Is it possible to add a column that displays the isometric number next to the item number and is also displayed in the output list?
Currently this is not possible. If you only have a 90 degree cut, you could use the mitre field for that.
Can I simply copy lines from Excel parts lists?
Yes, that is no problem.
When CUTOPT is started, many texts are displayed with a strikethrough. How can I fix this?
Press F9 to update the texts. Or save the file, in which case the display will also appear correctly.
Depending on the optimization, the line breaks may be placed incorrectly. Can I change that?
The line breaks can be overridden on the output sheet. If the number of lines per page is changed manually, the line break is adjusted.
How do the remaining items differ from the second bar length?
The number of pieces is given for the remaining items. If remaining items are entered, these are optimized first and then the remaining requirements are calculated using bar lengths 1 and, if applicable, 2.
Why can I enter a second bar length?
This refers to the source material. If you want to use rods in two different lengths, you can enter them here. Then CUTOPT will calculate how many rods of which length will give you the best result.
What is meant by the “special optimum”?
There are individual cases where better values are achieved with a special type of calculation than with the standard one. By selecting the special optimum, you use this special calculation type.
I work with a Mac. Does CUTOPT also run on the Excel version for Mac?
Unfortunately no. CUTOPT runs exclusively on Excel for Windows. This is due to programming with VBA. An extension to Mac is currently not planned.
